Wash. 81:576-579.—A description of a female.The type specimen of the female of this velvet ant was collected at Archbold Biological Station on 24-25 March 1978 by J. O. Schmidt and A. Hook. "We are proud to name this species in honor of Richard Archbold who pioneered in natural history exploration and who established the biological station where the type was collected."
