Land Management Internships, 2004:
Career training for undergraduate students

Introduction. As agencies and organizations acquire wildlands for conservation, the question arises, "what next?" Managers of wildlands face the responsibility of managing habitats for a variety of objectives. Land Management internships at Archbold Biological Station focus on the application of scientific research to meet complex conservation objectives. Land Management Interns at Archbold have an opportunity for active involvement in a program that seeks solutions to issues such as appropriate fire treatments, invasive species, and ecological restoration. Interns get hands-on experience planning and implementing a variety of real-world, land management projects. The practical skills that interns develop at Archbold will be useful for a career in resource management.

Appointments can be made at any time of the year.
