Tropical Soda Apple
With the exception of the Lousy 10, all tropical soda apple that occurs at the station is known from the Reserve. Recently, a several new seedlings of tropical soda apple were found in the Garden Area of Red Hill in an area that was burned. Most of the dense clumps of tropical soda apple are found under large trees such as laurel oaks, live oaks, eucalyptus, and Indian rosewood, an indication that cattle (which once foraged over the entire Reserve) rested under these larger trees and passed the seeds out. Scattered plants and small clumps of tropical soda apple are located throughout the Reserve and the Lousy 10.
