Archbold Biological
Station
- Visitors are welcome, although visitor facilities are limited.
- All visitors should register at the
Main
Office (south end of the Main Building) M-F 8-5 and complete a liability
waiver. Weekend visitors should register at the Information
kiosk
at the
north end of the Plaza.
- Exhibits about the Station and its history are in the
Auditorium, M-F 8-5
(at the north end of the Annex).
- "Islands in Time,"an 18-minute video about the biodiversity and
conservation of the
Lake Wales Ridge, is available in the
Lounge adjacent to
the Main Office, M-F 8-5.
- A half-mile
nature trail, emphasizes plant identification and scrub ecology.
The trail begins at south end of the Main Grounds. Trail booklets are
available at the Plaza Kiosk and the Main Office.

Group tours
(min. 10 people) are by appointment.

Sales (postcards, T-shirts), M-F 8-4 in Main Office.
- Picnic tables are at the north end of the Plaza.
- Pets are not permitted.
- The
Annex,
Main Building,
Dining Room, and
Pine Cottage are wheelchair
accessible.
- Accommodations are available by appointment for researchers, college
classes, nature-study groups, and for other mission-related meetings and
workshops.
- The Station has an outstanding scientific
library emphasizing ecology and
the natural history of Florida. It is not a lending library. The library
catalog is online at www.archbold-station.org.
- The main gate is shut overnight (after 9pm).

- Researcher and college classes by appointment.
- The public ecotour "Indian Prairie Safari"
is available by appointment -
