Endowment allows for independence.

The Station is funded principally by proceeds from an endowment overseen by Archbold Expeditions. This endowment, created by founder Richard Archbold, is managed by a Board of Trustees. On-site administration is provided by the Executive Director, the Controller, the Human Resources/Risk Management Administrator, and the Station Operations Manager, with input from a Scientific Advisory Board.
