Species of the Lake Wales Ridge Duet Dialogue - Special Event, a scientist/artist dialogue featuring guest speakers Mark Deyrup (naturalist/scientist at Archbold Biological Station) and Carol Mahler (writer/folklorist). The public is invited.
Tickets are available at Archbold Biological Station, 123 Main Drive, Venus, FL 33960. Advanced tickets are $12 and may be purchased in person, or via telephone using a major credit card. Tickets at the door, if available will be $15. Refreshments will be served at 6pm and the Dialogue will begin at 7pm.There is limited seating and it is first come first served. Memorial for Dr. David Maehr, University of Kentucky, Florida Black Bear Project. A celebration of Dave Maehr's life and work was held in October, following his death on June 20th (along with Mason Smoak, friend of the Station).

Roof ribbon cutting cermony. In the summer of 2007, we celebrated the installation of a new roof. This roof was renewed to its historically accurate condition through a grant from the Florida Division of Historical Resources.

Memorial for Dr. Glen Woolfenden, University of South Florida, Florida Scrub-Jay. A celebration of Glen Wookfenden's life was held in September, following his sudden death in June, 2007.
