Buck Island Ranch, 300 Buck Island Ranch Road, Lake Placid, FL 33852
Archbold is excited to partner with UF/IFAS Extension Highlands County for their next Ag Resource Hub at Buck Island Ranch. This half-day program offers a unique opportunity to tour a 10,500-acre working cattle ranch and learn about conservation practices that support both agriculture and the environment.
The day will begin with a ranch buggy tour led by Dr. Betsey Boughton, Archbold's Agroecology Program Director, followed by guest speakers from Conservation Florida, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program, and Dispersed Water Management, LLC, who will share insights on land stewardship, water management, and conservation cost-share programs.
The program will conclude with a steak lunch and a producer roundtable discussion, where experienced landowners will share perspectives on implementing conservation practices.
