Field Trip Volunteer Open House & Training
Help inspire the next generation of young scientists
Tue. 10/28/25; 1:00 pm - Tue. 10/28/25; 4:00 pm
Archbold Biological Station (Learning Center), 123 Main Drive, Venus, FL 33960
Curious about volunteering with Archbold’s Education Program? Join us for our Field Trip Volunteer Open House & Training! This event is designed for those who love the outdoors, enjoy working with children, and want to support hands-on science education.
During the morning, you’ll:
- Get an overview of Archbold, our Education Program, and the Elementary Education experience
- Take part in a step-by-step walk through of a field trip, including a live snake presentation, Discovery Room exploration, guided hike, and overlook visit
- Learn what's involved in volunteering for field trips and complete any necessary paperwork
No prior experience is required, and attending does not obligate you to sign up as a volunteer. Please note that all volunteers must complete a standard background check to ensure a safe environment for the children we serve. Just come ready to learn, explore, and see if field trip volunteering might be a good fit for you.
What to wear: Long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes or hiking boots are recommended for the outdoor walk-through.
