Frog & Toad Discovery Hike
Exploring amphibian adaptations in the Florida scrub
Sat. 02/28/26; 3:30 pm - Sat. 02/28/26; 5:00 pm
Archbold Biological Station (Learning Center), 123 Main Drive, Venus, FL 33960
Join our biologists for a guided, family-friendly hike through the Florida scrub as we explore the remarkable world of amphibians. Along this one-mile route, we'll make several stops to search for frogs and toads and highlight the unique adaptations that help them thrive in this rare habitat. The hike concludes at a nearby pond, where participants will help check minnow traps and try dip netting for aquatic critters. Because of the hike distance, this program is recommended for participants ages 7 and up.
