Reed Bowman Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Reed Bowman (1958-2023), beloved bird biologist at Archbold Biological Station, passed away unexpectedly on Monday 18th September in Sebring, Florida. After completing a master’s degree in wildlife at McGill University in 1985, Reed held various wildlife positions in Florida before he joined Archbold in 1991 while finishing up his PhD at University of South Florida in 1992. At Archbold he rose from postdoctoral biologist to be honored as the first endowed John W. Fitzpatrick Program Director of Avian Ecology.
Through a generous donation from Fred Lohrer, Archbold has named a Reed Bowman Memorial Internship in the Avian Ecology Program. Please consider a gift to this fund to ensure its endowment in perpetuity. To support this fund, return to the main Donate page and use the form to complete donation. Include ‘Reed Bowman Memorial Internship’ in the provided comment box. You may also mail a check made to Archbold Biological Station at 123 Main Drive, Venus, FL 33960, with ‘Reed Bowman Memorial Internship’ as memo. Thank you for supporting this meaningful program.
