a field station expedition

Sat. 02/10/24; 2:00 pm - Sat. 02/10/24; 4:00 pm

Archbold Biological Station (in-person event)

Lace up your hiking boots and come to the Headwaters of the Florida Everglades for a guided walking tour through one of the USA's rarest habitats, the Florida scrub. Leading the walk is Archbold's Program Director of Education, Dustin Angell, who will familiarize visitors with this incredible subtropical "elfin forest" and share stories from Archbold's place-based ecological research and land stewardship.

This program is suggested for adults.

Participants are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes or boots, and long pants. Be prepared to hike a 1/2 mile in loose sugar sand. Parts of the trail may be muddy. Meet at Archbold's Learning Center at 8:45AM to sign in.

RSVP required. $10 per person.
