This Halloween season, connect to wild Florida with a moonlit hike and bonfire. Listen to frightening local folktales and ghost stories, and learn some nighttime science, too. Why is Lake Istokpoga called “The Lake That Drowns People” and who was the ghost of the exploding boy? This event is for adults and children, ages 8 and older. Stories will include horror elements that may upset some children. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in a costume, but closed-toed shoes and pants are encouraged. The best costume for each age group (children and adults) wins a prize. Be prepared to hike in loose sugar sand for a mile and bring a blanket or pillow to sit on.
