Experience nature journaling with Audubon ecologist and artist Danielle Ivey, joined by Archbold's Director of Education, Dustin Angell and Education Assistant, Katie Caldwell.

Discover how fun it can be to look closely at nature and record what you find! In this interactive workshop, kids will learn the basics of nature journaling, using pictures, words, and numbers to explore the world around them.

Through guided exercises and time outdoors, participants will practice using all their senses to make observations and ask questions. Prompts like "I notice...", "I wonder...", and "It reminds me of..." will help spark curiosity and creativity.

This isn't about making perfect art—it’s about learning to see, think, and wonder like a scientist and an artist all at once! By the end, kids will feel confident creating their own nature journals and connecting more deeply with the outdoors.

About the Instructor: Danielle Ivey is an ecologist and artist whose lifelong passions for drawing and exploring the outdoors come together through nature journaling. With just pencil, paper, and curiosity, Danielle helps young learners discover new ways to connect with the natural world.
