GIS Research Assistant

Susmita is a Remote Sensing Assistant and Drone Pilot at Archbold Biological Station. She earned her Master's degree in Natural Resources from the University of Connecticut, with a minor in GIS and Remote Sensing. Her work focuses on using spatial technologies to better understand and manage natural and working landscapes. By integrating data collected from drones, satellites, and other sensing platforms, she helps address a wide range of environmental questions, from monitoring plant stress and mapping invasive species to assessing fire impacts and advancing precision agriculture. When she's not analyzing data or flying drones, Susmita enjoys cooking, hiking, and exploring new places.
