Throughout the pandemic, Archbold has been fully engaged in science, conservation, and outreach. Currently our facilities are open by appointment only, but please stay tuned. We look forward to further opening to the public.

Ecology Summer Camp

2022 Registration Open, click here to register

Young scientists and explorers ages 7-12 are invited to join us for a week of science, nature, and fun in Florida’s heartland. Campers hike through beautiful and rare habitats, visit a working cattle ranch, swim in a sinkhole lake, meet scientists, create art, and make new friends.

Sponsorships for financial need: Thanks to donations from our friends and supporters, we offer sponsorships for families with economic need. Camp fees are waived for children who qualify for sponsorships. Sponsorship families provide their own transportation and lunch. Sponsorship applicants must fill out the application and send proof you family is on a federal assistance program. Apply using the registration link at the top of the page.

Teenage Volunteers: Teens that love science and nature, and are looking for leadership experience, are encouraged to apply for our Team Leader positions. Team Leaders work a one week camp session and earn 35+ hours helping run camp activities and acting as role models for our campers. Download application PDF

Location: Frances Archbold Hufty Learning Center, our LEED Platinum certified green building at Archbold. This building is easily accessible from Archbold’s main drive.
